Mrs. Gail Rhew Reavis 81, of Haw River, NC passed away on March 2, 2024, after 2 months of declining health. A native of Alamance Co. NC, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. Rhew and Edna Way and the wife of 39 years, to the late James Shelton “Mr. Jim” Reavis Sr. She was THE Secretary of Haw River Flooring Inc. Gail was a Deconess and Trustee Member of the former Haw River Christian Church. She will forever be remembered as a loving Wife, Mother, Maw Maw, Sister, and Friend to all, but nothing put a smile on her face like her family, especially her loving grandchildren. She was the loving mother to 3 children, James Shelton “Jim” Reavis Jr. and wife Sharon, of Atlantic Beach, and Michael Scott “Mike” Reavis, of Burlington; she was a long term foster mother of six children; a Maw Maw to her 6 grandchildren, Richard Smith, of Climax, Danielle Reavis Doucette and husband Geoff, of Burlington, Dylan Reavis and wife Emily, of Snow Camp, Nicholas Reavis, of Graham, Kelsey Dunlap, of Burlington, and Mercedes Ivy Smith, of Oak Ridge; her 12 great grandchildren, Alexander, Axel, and Maverick Smith; Tinsleigh, Presleigh, and Blakeleigh Doucette; Olivia Reavis, Angel and Abbey Blaylock; Heather and Hannah Buntin; and Murphy Grey, who were all her pride and joy; her sister, Deborah McGowan and brothers, Jackie Rhew and wife Linda and Edward Rhew, and her many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Teresa Reavis Jones, and a sister Lola Oettel. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday March 7, 2024, at the Graham Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the graveside service at McClure Funeral Home in Graham, and other times at the residence of the family in Haw River.
